Solace and Solstice in Summer

Solace isn't a word you hear much anymore.  I guess it's most often heard after an unfortunate circumstance, like, "well, at least you can take solace in knowing no one was hurt".  It is a word that winds up showing gratitude at a point things may otherwise be taken for granted.

Solstice is another such word that is not frequently used.  We annually celebrate both winter and, more recently, summer solstice.  These terms represent the 'shortest' and 'longest' days of the year (in the sun's relation to the earth).  During summer, in particular, people tend to take advantage of the extra daylight by being more vigorous in their activities.

The summer solstice indicates a time to work and play longer.  One can also take solace in knowing chiropractic care is available year round, and not limited by the happenings of planetary influences.  At Active Health Center, we are seeing many people who claim to have 'overdone' now that we're in summer.  In addition to helping heal what back issues are aggravated, Dr. Handcock can also give medical advice on how to prevent injuries.

Being and staying well are our goal for you.  Our job is to help you reach your ultimate potential health every day. Another old verse is 'an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure', and we don't take that saying lightly here.  Call us at 512-310-2747 to schedule an appointment, and know we'll help you find solace in knowing you've done the right thing for your body.
